CALM & SAFE
Swimming Beaches
Sheltered bays with gentle entry, good for a full day in the water without worrying about reef or current
Not every beach on this island is safe or comfortable to actually swim at, some are surf-focused, some sit over sharp reef, some face open ocean swell that makes casual swimming risky. These are the ones where the water is genuinely calm enough to relax in, protected bays with sandy bottoms and gentle entry, the kind of beach where you can spend hours in the water rather than just admiring it from the sand.
Conditions can still shift with the season and tide even at the calmest of these, always worth a quick look at the water before heading in, but as a group, these are the most reliably swimmable stretches of coast documented so far.
