Senggigi's quieter neighbor
Mangsit sits just a few minutes north of Senggigi, close enough to borrow its infrastructure without any of the crowds. Small hotels and restaurants line the beach, but it stays a genuinely laid-back place, popular with a mellow surf crowd rather than the day-trip groups further south.
The sand is the real point of difference, dark and pepper-toned with volcanic flecks running through it, closer in character to Tanjung Aan's coarser grain than to a true black sand beach. It gives the whole beach a different feel from the golden sand at Senggigi proper, just a five-minute drive away.
