A quiet stop with real coral

Gili Goleng is a small, uninhabited island in the waters off Sekotong, right beside Gili Gede and Gili Asahan in the same cluster of secret Gilis. It shows up on most island-hopping itineraries alongside Gili Nanggu, Gili Sudak, and Gili Layar, but sees far less traffic than the bigger names in the group.

The island is ringed by mostly hard coral, which draws in snorkelers looking for a quieter stop than the more popular islands nearby, without the crowds that can build up around Nanggu on a busy day.
