The island's eastern edge
Tanjung Ringgit sits right at the easternmost point of Lombok, a dramatic limestone cliff face dropping straight into the open Indian Ocean. It's one of the best panoramic viewpoints on this side of the island, open ocean in every direction, savanna-covered hills behind you, and on clear days, the outline of Sumbawa visible across the water.
There's genuine history here too, the remains of a Japanese cannon from the Second World War sit along the site, a quiet, slightly unexpected detail for what's otherwise a natural landscape.

SAND & WATER
Not a swimming spot
This is a viewpoint, not a beach, tall cliffs and a powerful open-ocean swell make it unsuitable and unsafe for swimming. The appeal here is entirely the view and the setting, best appreciated from solid ground rather than the water.
GETTING THERE
Access & parking
Most of the road in is paved, with the final stretch narrowing and getting a little rougher closer to the site. From the parking area, it's a short walk to the main viewpoint, no serious trekking required, though a few sections along the trail are loose and rocky underfoot.

Facilities
A handful of simple warungs sit near the entrance, along with a parking area. Beyond that, facilities stay minimal, this is a sightseeing stop rather than a place to spend a full day.
TIMING
When to visit
Morning is genuinely worth it here, both for the light and for the chance of a clear view across to Sumbawa before any haze builds later in the day. It also works well combined with a visit to the pink beaches nearby, since they're all in the same general area.

Not a swimming spot, tall cliffs and strong Indian Ocean swell. Wear grippy footwear for the loose, rocky sections of trail, and keep well back from the cliff edge at all times.

A QUIET PIECE OF HISTORY
The Japanese cannon remains from the WWII occupation are a genuine, if understated, historical site along the trail. There's no formal museum or signage infrastructure, so it's easy to miss if you're not specifically looking for it, worth asking locally or checking with a guide if seeing it is a priority.
