Kura-Kura takes its name from a large rock formation just off the coast that, from the right angle, genuinely resembles a turtle, kura-kura being Indonesian for turtle. It sits within the same Pink Beach tourism area, Sekaroh village, reachable either by road or as one stop on a longer boat-based island-hopping route.
The setting is quiet and still largely undiscovered compared to the pink beaches nearby, clear water, healthy coral, and green hills framing the cove, with very little in the way of other visitors most days.

Conditions on the ground
The water here is clear with a blue-green gradient, and the reef just offshore is well preserved, genuinely good snorkeling territory with a healthy variety of coral and fish. Swimming is fine when conditions are calm, which is most days given how sheltered the cove is, but it's worth checking with your boat operator before going in if the sea looks at all unsettled.
GETTING THERE
Access & parking
Kura-Kura can be reached directly by road, a track runs down through the hills to the beach itself, so it isn't limited to a boat-only approach. That said, many visitors still arrive by boat, either from Pink Beach 1 or directly from Tanjung Luar Harbour, roughly 15 to 30 minutes depending on where you set off from, since it's an easy add-on when already combining Pink Beach 2, Gili Petelu, and Pulau Pasir on the same outing. Either way works, driving in gives more independence, the boat route is the simpler choice if you're already out on the water.

There's genuinely nothing here in the way of facilities, no warungs, no toilets, no shade beyond what the landscape offers. Bring your own water, snacks, and sun protection, whether you're driving in independently or arriving as part of a guided boat trip.

GOOD TO KNOW
No lifeguard on duty, and this is a remote cove with no facilities nearby. Bring comfortable footwear for the coral areas, and avoid stepping on or touching coral and marine life while snorkeling.
When to visit
Morning through midday gives the clearest water and the best light for both snorkeling and photos of the turtle rock itself. Most boat tours are timed to hit this stop within that window as part of a longer route.

Pink Beach 1 has the facilities, the pink sand, and functions as the hub for the whole area. Kura-Kura is quieter and less developed, a distinctive rock formation and genuinely good snorkeling, but nothing in the way of amenities. It works well as its own independent visit if you're driving, or as an easy add-on if you're already out on a boat.
