Sharing the beach with Nambung
Pengantap sits in Sekotong on Lombok's southwest coast, sharing the same continuous stretch of sand as Nambung just along the shore. It's one of the least developed, least visited beaches on this list, still very much a natural landscape rather than a tourism destination, backed by green hills with very little built up around it.
This is a genuinely relaxed beach rather than a heavy surf destination, good for a swim, popular with local fishermen, and occasionally worth a paddle out if the swell direction lines up on the day. Desert Point, the world-famous left-hand barrel, is a separate spot entirely, at the far southwestern tip of the peninsula, roughly 1.5 hours further on, not something reachable from here.

Conditions on the ground
The water here is generally calm and swimmable, a genuinely relaxed beach rather than a surf destination first and foremost. It's a popular spot with local fishermen, and depending on the day, a wave can build if the swell direction lines up, worth bringing a board just in case, but don't plan the trip around surf specifically. If a wave is the priority, Serangan or Selong Belanak are the more reliable options nearby.

About 1 hour 10 minutes from Kuta Lombok. Most of the road is paved, but the final few kilometers narrow and get rougher, with some patches of uneven surface. Vehicles can park a short walk from the beach itself, no long trekking required once you're on the final stretch.

Simple local warungs and a parking area are available, along with a small number of basic lodging options in the wider area. Don't expect anything beyond that, this remains a genuinely quiet, undeveloped stretch of coast.

No lifeguard on duty. Generally calm and swimmable, but conditions can shift with the swell, worth checking with locals on the day before heading in if the sea looks at all unsettled.
Morning through afternoon on a clear day works well for swimming and the general scenery. There's no fixed season to plan around here, unlike a dedicated surf spot, conditions just come down to whatever the swell is doing on the day you visit.

Pengantap vs Nambung
TWO FEATURES, ONE BEACH
Pengantap and Nambung actually share the same stretch of sand, not two separate beaches so much as two ends of one continuous coastline. Nambung's end is where the saltwater waterfall phenomenon happens, along with its own small reef break just offshore. Pengantap's end is the calmer, more swimmable stretch, better suited to a relaxed beach day, fishing, or an opportunistic paddle out.
